Lynita Mitchell Blackwell
Lynita Mitchell-Blackwell is the author of Leading Through Living: A Guide for Women Seeking Growth Through Leadership. She is an Attorney, CPA, and Managing Attorney of LMB Law Offices PC, specializing in real estate and business law. Lynita is the Georgia Chapter President of the American Association of Attorney-Certified Public Accountants, Atlanta Chapter Advisory Board Chair of the New Leaders Council, At-Large Post Seat Holder for the Douglas County Democratic Party, and a past President of the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys Foundation.
Additionally, Lynita is a blogger for the Urban League of Greater Atlanta Young Professionals Politicker; and writer for the AME Church Women's Missionary Society Workbook with a focus on gender bias, women's political participation, and women in leadership.
Lynita has been recognized for her commitment to service by the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation with the President's Call to Service Award, a lifetime achievement award for service; and by Black Enterprise Magazine as one of its "BE NEXT 35" Young and Bold Business Leaders due to her work with the non-profit women’s leadership development and training organization she co-founded in 2008: the Jewell Jackson McCabe Emerging Leaders Institute, Inc. (ELI). During the four years Lynita lead ELI, the organization served over 300 women and girls ages 11 to 62 in seven states and three countries, was honored with the Community Empowerment Award by the My Sister's Keeper Foundation for Women, was featured as the Charity Spotlight by Black Celebrity Giving, and participated in the Sierra Club's One Voice: Reproductive Health & Environment Summit.
Lynita earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Florida A&M University School of Business & Industry, Juris Doctor degree from Georgia State University College of Law, and International Comparative Law/Commercial Arbitration Certificate from Johannes Kepler Universitat Linz, Austria. She is admitted to practice law in the state of Georgia and holds her CPA license in the state of Florida.
Lynita is training for her first marathon, loves to write and paint, and is an avid reader. She is married to Rev. Brian Blackwell and they have one daughter.
