Innovation on Purpose
I decided to try this out for 3 reasons… 1) I love to write and am hoping to build the discipline of writing what I want, when I want- in the hopes of one day writing a novel. 2) I have had the good fortune of traveling the world and acquiring insights, ideas, and experiences across North America, Europe, India, China, and Brazil, and am anxious to share what I have learned. 3) Through Innovation on Purpose, I am hoping to gain even more connections from around the globe and to learn from other innovators… we have a unique opportunity to make a profound difference in the world and I hope to share with and learn from as many amazing people as I can.
Why "There is No Spoon" as a theme? Yes, I am an avid science fiction fan, but I love this metaphor from the Matrix (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dzm8kTIj_0M) as it relates to the fact that nothing is truly impossible… despite how it may seem. We often dismiss possibilities because rules, fallacies, or constraints get in the way… when in fact many of these obstacles are actually illusions- either self-inflicted or a symptom of organizational culture or bureaucracy. I truly believe that the only limit to what is possible, is our ability to believe that the "impossible" can be done, and am always looking for ways to "bend" reality and to do something amazing.
