Organizational Solutions principal focus is on creating alignment, beginning with the leadership team (who, very often to the surprise of the CEO, are not genuinely aligned) and continuing throughout the enterprise. Achieving alignment at more than a superficial level requires engaging members of the org in: understanding current level of business performance, understanding strategy for competitive distinction/growth of the business, understanding and committing to mission and values of the org, sharing vision of the desired future, streamlining customer-focused business processes, managing information/talent, and creating a change-adept organization that can respond quickly to a dynamic business environment.
Beginning with a snapshot assessment of the current state of the org, Here at Organizational Solutions we engage with your people to better understand cause & effect of current business performance by using a systems model. Because complexity of both the business environment and the legacy org design (whether it happened by design or happenstance) can become overwhelming to many, it is often extremely helpful to be able to frame data from the snapshot in an easy-to-understand organizational model.
Working with the leadership team to create a blueprint of the desired future state of the org, Organizational Solutions, facilitate a dialogue that surfaces strategic misalignments at the very top. When this step is not addressed (and quite often it is considered unnecessary because alignment at this level is assumed) it should be no surprise to find the vast majority of change initiatives fail to produce intended results. Time spent surfacing issues of misalignment allows them to be managed with an ultimate objective of creating an organizational blueprint sincerely supported by the entire team.
With a blueprint of the desired future in mind, the leadership team is then engaged in assessing gaps between current state and future state. Those gaps are the basis for defining target initiatives for change - a small number of high-priority targets that the org can designate for designing and implementing solutions. Accordingly, the leadership team charters a design team(s) consisting of a cross-functional group of the best and brightest who actually do the work being targeted - not those who are most available because they're not doing anything else - to develop recommendations to address what's been requested in their charter.
Because many are engaged in developing proposed changes, and because those recommendations are developed organically, implementation of those changes is facilitated as compared to strictly top-down mandates or externally derived expert solutions. Nevertheless, by encouraging leadership to provide durable sponsorship, and by engaging and involving as many as possible to go from 'what' was recommended to 'how' will we actually do it, Organizational Solutions help you to greatly increase the chances of successful execution of the desired change.
