People Development Blog

The People Discovery Blog is a bit of a labour of love.  I love sharing new ideas, concepts and strategies to help leaders, managers, business owners, or anyone interested in people development see fresh and new perspectives, or even to reinforce their own great practices.

My blog includes topics on leadership development, leadership practices, human resources.  My leadership development model is the filter for all of my work, both in how I help clients and also how I write.  You can find out more about the model here.  I believe that inside of everyone is a higher self which is powerful, loving, kind and creative.  In addition I believe that when you can come to the realisation that we are all connected, then it is inevitable that a unity consciousness develops.  The power of living life through unity consciousness is that it resolves all conflicts and unites all people.  I hope you learn and enjoy my blog.  I wish you peace, love and enlightenment in your life.

5 Characteristics of an Open-Minded Leader

5 Characteristics of an Open-Minded Leader

I managed to get into a space at the side of the station which had lots of car parking spaces but […]

10 Ways to Get Focused When You Simply Have Too Much To Do

Image Link Getting Focused is the key to getting things done! I don’t know about you but I do struggle at times to feel in control when my “to-do-list” is over the page. Unfortunately while mindlessly reacting, I’ve developed an almost comic strip routine, a little like starting a new healthy eating regime, it only lasts a few days  of being focused and then old habits usually take over. The […]

3 Ways We Block Success

3 Ways We Block Success

Three Ways We Block Success I’ve often wondered why people don’t as a rule live up to their potential: People with fabulous skills who for many reasons don’t feel the need to use them. A great friend of mine has the interior designer skill of Lawrence Llewellyn Bowen. She tirelessly attacks her house like painting the Forth Bridge, where she just finishes designing and changing her final room, then starts […]

3 Reasons Why A Great Engagement Strategy Isn’t Enough

An engagement strategy means the ability to create a great environment A great environment where employees are engaged and encouraged to bring out their self-motivation are “must have” leadership skills. I have worked with many leaders who have made great efforts to put in place a culture which gets the best out of people and gets them involved and committed. But sometimes their efforts simply weren’t, frustratingly, enough. Indeed many […]
